We like to introduce ourselves as one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of finished leather, uppers and complete shoes. We produce a large range of finished leathers for shoes, upholstery, handbags and garments in full vegetable, semi-vegetable, full-chrome and semi-chrome tanning. We mainly deal in Cow, Buffalo and Goat leathers. Our production capacity is about 25,000 sq. ft of finished leather per day.

It all started back in 1958, when Mr. Khawaja Ghulam Dastgir planned to diverse from traditional business of lamb skin to the modern and technical production of sole leather. At that time he was the only one to cover a large area from Sahiwal to Karachi. In start, he faced some problems to arrange right chemicals and skilled labor. But due to his kindness and honesty along with professional and social commitments, he was able to overcome these problems and Multan became the center of sole leather in mid 60's till mid 80's.

After him his three sons, Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Yunus (Late), Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Yousuf (currently Chairman) and Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Abdullah (currently Managing Director) converted the unit from sole leather to finished leather production (as per market forces). They explored the international markets in late 70's when it was not easy to travel abroad. Now the unit started growing every year. In early 80's Mehr Dastgir Leather (formerly known as M. Muzaffar-ud-din Tannery --- MDT) was known by all major buyers of Europe.

The management decided to install a shoe factory within the premises of Leather factory in 1985 and converted the name to Mehr Dastgir Leather and Footwear Industries (Pvt.) LTD --- MDL. The shoe factory firstly started making only uppers for the renowned companies like Annabella (Italy), Vico (Italy), Stival (Cezk Republic), Kyaia (Portugal) and Rieker Schuh (Germany). In 1997, the management decided to stop production of uppers anymore because of very low prices offered by Indian and Chinese counterparts. Now the company started making complete shoes with their own brands.

In 2002, Company launched a brand name "ORIGINAL" for its Middle East market and setup its brand offices in Makkah Mukarrama and Dubai (UAE) to promote its brand sales. In Future, we like to start sale offices in Europe and America as well.
